Hi everyone, this is all new to me so bear with me. i am at an alltime low just now with myself due to my gambling. ive always had a bet, for the past 10 years. started off with the football and now im on to roulette etc. i have a good job but have nothing to show for it. i just married the love of my life and life should be great but i cant help lying to her and going to bookies for a bet. the lies are the thing i hate the most. After i lose which is everytime i end up going in a mood. it isnt fair on my wife but i cant help this. i need help to stop. ive given up before and went weeks without doing it then all of a sudden i will be in the bookies and massively outta pocket. i hope i can change and give my wife the life she deserves.

Gambling site blocking and self exclusion. You need counselling via Gamcare (free) and or go to GA meetings.

Put your finances in the hands of your wife. You need to put up as many obstacles to gambling as you can.

You've given up for a period of weeks before. This time you need to give up for good. If you don't it will wreck your marriage and your life.

Try and keep busy and do sports/hobbies.

Do the 2015 Challenge on here and keep a diary.

You can beat it for good this time.

Best Wishes

Yes, I agree block all sites, give your wife all credit/debt cards (iv done this) and even get the self exclude form from your local bookies, they will want a passport photo to go with it, then you are not aloud in. The trouble is, like most bookies, it's the same old faces and you, like myself, know a few of them by name, it's like a youth club but it's more expensive to get in!!!! You need to take these steps for your own recovery, and once all temptation is out of reach, you, myself, and everyone of us can start to feel normal again. Be strong....!

You will only stop if you 'want' to stop gambling. Needing to stop and wanting to stop are totally different things.

Invest 10 pound on a book ... Allan Carr, The easy way to stop gambling. It might just save you 50,000 in the long run...
