Hi,

I am having a panic attack right now, how thrown away 800 just today and that was money i needed for this week to pay old debt and my housemate's rent.

I cannot access any more money as I have poor credit and have maxed my credit cards, what can i do? is there any way I can access 1000 quickly for this week. I don't mind if I have to pay a lot more back, just need some help.

Firstly welcome to the site - secondly regarding the money we have all been there hence why we are here. Personally I have no debt related to gambling but what I would say to you is to avoid pay day loans and the like - from experience of friends of mine who have taken pay day loans it just seems to be the start of a slippery slope into oblivion. Contact your debtors and see if they are happy enough to hold off on the money until you get paid again. It's a start!!

Hi cantstopdebt,

Welcome to the Forum!

You've noticed how gambling is affecting your life and how it's causing you to panic about money, your relationships and how it makes you feel about yourself. You've now taken the step to ask for help.

That is a good step to take. And this is a good place to get help and support.

While we cannot advise you on how to raise cash fast in order to meet your obligations, maybe we can give you some encouragement to think about this more.

You say that your money problems are caused by your gambling problem. That is something you can address. It may not be quickly solved, but in the long run you can do something about it and thereby change the way things are going for you. Maybe you can start talking to your friends and/or housemate about your problem, too and it might make things look differently, when you start being open about your problem.

You could start by writing more about your gambling problem here or by talking in private to an advisor either on the Helpline

0808 8020 133

or on the Netline http://secure.gamcare.org.uk/netline/

Both services are open from 8am to midnight every day. From the response you already had on here, you would have noticed, that you are not being judged and that people on here are supportive and understanding.

Give it a try.

Kind wishes

Gabriele

Thanks for your response guys, have calmed down a bit now and more level headed. May have to take a payday loan out as I can't see other options. Not in a place where I can tell my housemate as I work at the same place as them. But have cancelled all gambling accounts and going to speak to my bank who I have a 6 year loan with and am paying a lot back each month which may be causing me to panic and gamble.
