Hi I literally just joined.

I'm 28, female and live on the Isle of Wight. Can't seem to find any support groups at all over here.

I have no idea how to begin to stop, mainly because I mainly but scratch cards, hundreds of them every week. When ever I spend too much on online slots I self exclude, then just sign myself up to a different site on my phone. So blocking software wouldn't even work on that would it?

I really wish I didn't waste any of my money on any of it! Any help/advice would be GREAT! Thanks in advance.

Hi Samsung

Welcome to the GamCare forum, I'm sure you'll get a lot of support from our members. I just wanted to make you aware of a service we offer that can benefit people who arent very near any other kind of support - we offer free online counselling with GamCare counsellors which you might benefit from. If you wanted to find out more about it you can contact our free helpline on 0808 802 0133.

Best wishes

Rebecca

Hi Samsung

Please ring gamcare as many times as you like because that one to one voice will be really helpful.

Keep using the forum because you will learn a lot on here as we all did

At the moment you are in the grip of a full blown gambling addiction. There is no shame in admitting that.

You must now work on counselling and that gambling is a losing game. The aim is to regain a healthy state of mind where you wonder why you ever did it.

You must block from all sites and be proactive in doing that. Anything you think you might join must be blocked. Close family and friends can help you do that. Online slots will destroy you faster than anything. You have been ignoring the odds and playing for escape from something.

Scratch cards are also a mugs game. Gambling makes fools and wrecks of otherwise intelligent people

With honesty and openness you can now reach out for the help you need

Being gamble free is a wonderful feeling and I hope you will join us.

Best wishes from everyone on the forum
