Hi,
Ive joined, as it’s just dawned on me that my husband is a gambling addict. I’m shocked and so sad and angry. Having said that, I couldn’t bring myself to leave him. He’s been suffering from depression for years.
He spread bets. Unbelievably spread betting doesn’t come under the gambling commission and therefore self exclusion is not an option.Â
He had lost £30k in 6 months ( balance of our house sale money). So when we basically had nothing left and he hardly earns anything from a struggling business, I thought it would stop.Â
After an argument about council tax arrears, he told me he was using a demo account and doing well! I said to him if I find out that you’ve done any more spread betting, that’s it! He replied that he had!
having checked through his bank accounts, he list )£1800 in the past year. I’m furious but mostly gobsmacked that someone supposedly intelligent can be so stupid. It’s so hard to understand.Â
I feel I need to warn his dad to change his will and leave anything to my daughter instead!Â
I can’t bear the thought of him gambling away any inheritance.
why is spread BETTING not classed as gambling?Â
Gambling is gambling spread Betting is Gambling too.Anything to do with betting on a outcome is gambling.
My advice is tell him to join gamcare or GA meetings.
you yourself can go to gamanon meeting for families.
all the best to you.I hope you are all ok, and resolve try get help for this addiction.
