I posted on here October 2020 and glad to say I’ve abstained from gambling since.I’ve been tempted on the odd occasion but refrained from taking the step to relapse.Life is going well,I bought my first house last year and have 4 holidays booked this year-one of which I have paid for my mum and myself,as a token of appreciation for all the times she has helped me and paid for holidays for me.
Life is so much better without living the gambling lifestyle as you free yourself from the stress and anxiety of not only losing money but the pressure you put yourself under when physically gambling,the will I/won’t I win.Also the lies and deceit gambling brings.
That said,I also realise I am never far away from a potential next bet but having applied gambling blocks with my bank and barred myself from certain establishments I will endeavour to not take myself back to those places.
Just for today I will not gamble and I hope anyone out there who is struggling can take some sort of inspiration from this post.

I am pleased for every one that finds clean healthy time off addictions and obsessions.
Spending time with your mum is very precious.
For me the gambling was not a lifestyle it was self destruction.
Setting gambling blocks with my bank is very helpful in your recovery
Just for today I will not gamble the most important thing in our recovery
For me the stress and anxiety panic was all fear based issues.
What was important for my recovery was to identify each and fears and face them head on.
