Hi everyone Johnny here again.

I am compulsive gambler thanks God I don't have any other addictions like alcohol or drugs that way I would be already living under the bridge.

Last time I posted here was few weeks ago I celebrated 7 months being gamble free.

Two weeks ago I went for a meal to the pub with friend like usually do once a week.

I had one quid in change in my hand after ordering meals and drinks and I seen slot machine on the front of me.I said to my mate just a pound.

Bonus came and I won the jackpot.

Devil never sleeps.

I strongly don't encourage anyone to gamble by posting this !!!!

Since that day I was on gambling binge and lost 6500 thousand pounds in last two weeks.

Gambled every single day even today just chasing losses.

I am 100%determined this time that I won't spend single penny on gambling ever again.Thats it I am very disappointed with myself all 7 months not gambling and done this.

Hello Johnny

Thank you for sharing this with us and for your honesty.

I can hear how disappointed you’re feeling following this lapse, having not gambled for seven months. It sounds really upsetting to lose that money and to be back chasing losses. Your hard work is not lost though – hopefully you can draw on the techniques/tools that got you through those seven months to keep your progress back on track again.

It sounds like you’ve reflected on what happened leading up to your recent gamble and this is so useful. Knowing the thoughts and situations that make you feel more at risk is a strength. It is harder to lose control and give in to the urge when you are aware.

If you would like to chat to us, our Helpline (0808 8020 133) and our 1:1 Livechat are both open 24 hours every day. We can also signpost you if you need any financial advice following your losses.

I hope you can remind yourself of everything you’ve accomplished so far and focus on your goals.

Wishing you well,

Claire

I read a proverb the other day that said something like

"fast money creates slow problems"

Most lottery winners for example eventually go broke , gamblers are never happy with what they've won and never really know what to spend it on

Its funny how one bad decision can set off a chain reaction of other bad decisions in life

Must stay diligent
