I have read your story more than once in the last few months and I have been willing you to reply after your last post, Just because I want to know that your OK and you are still gamble free after your relapse.

I am back here after 4 years trying to find some encouragement to stop me gambling once and for all.

Yes, I don't quite know why, we read a lot of tragic stories on here but this one really nagged away at me.

I think people go one way or the other if they don't post anymore on here and in all honesty, I think most of the time, it's sadly the wrong way.

Jay, if you're out there my friend, try and say a couple of lines to let people know you are ok my friend.

I just wanted to put this entry back to the top of the list. There aren't many other stories that have had more of an affect on me than this one. When I am really struggling in my recovery I look back on this diary and it reminds me of the position I could be in if I don't stop.

I always look out for an update from you Jay Ell I really hope you are OK and have at least found someone else to confide in if not this forum.

Lots of Love

Shorty xx

Hey Jay just read your story and so many things ring true as I am in the same boat, I can say ive never walked into a Casino or bet on a Dog or Horse, it's those god forsaken FOBT. I've hit rock bottom again with them 🙁 and I know the feeling of poor beggars and bystanders who know what the outcome would of been and the smug cashiers looking at you like you are an ex psycho convict and those that expect a Tip because they are too poor to get home even though you are still broke chasing your own loses, its a vicious cycle. The bookmakers is a very different world to the one I live at home with my disabled mother who doesn't even know the extend of my problem. I really feel for you, Im 24 and have 20k of debt which I owe to my Dad 🙁

Yes, this post still nags away at me. I have read and contributed to literally hundreds of posts here but there was something in Jay-ell's words that not on;y struck a chord, but gave me grave cause for concern.

Jay, if you're out there my friend, try and let the people here know you are ok. The people here really do care and every post is different but they all mean a great deal, they genuinely do.

Yes, this story still haunts me and I don't know why - I have read so many since and before, some much worse, some much less but this one tugs away, like I shouldn't forget it.

Jay-Ell, hope you can post one day my friend and let us know how you are. Take care, wherever you are

Jay, I'm not going to sit here & pretend I can relate to the quantity of money because I cant. What I can say though is, just from you writing on this sight and the people you have touched shows there are people here for you. Life's about so much more than this (I know it's very much easier said than done. The next time you you think of sticking two fifties in a machine replace that thought with taking you're family out for dinner & bowling. That's what life's about, enhance the good times & make you're family proud of you.

Don't EVER think its too late, because it isn't.
