Hiya.... yes indeed, it does sound like you have had enough. The bookies slots have been an absolute killer for me too. I have on several occasions put several hundred pounds in chassing the jackpot or in a desperate bid to get at least some of my money back, which always fails... cos if I get some of money back i then want all of it back and then I lose the lot.

Remember.... We can't win because we can't stop... the only win is NOT to play.

Phone up the national self-exclusion people and get yourself banned from all your local bookmakers.

Also remember that these machines have clever programming. They are designed to take your money. The more you put in the more you lose.

Fill your time doing other stuff, thats the challenge. learn to live without the brief thrill of gambling. Your just chassing little adrenaline hits, that's all, that's the addiction. Keep in touch with how you feel when the money is all gone. Better to feel a bit bored and restless but with a few quid in your pocket. get down the gym. Go for a run, swim, cycle.... anything is better than the bookies machines.

im also in my forties , I started gambling in 2006 in the World Cup small bets these got bigger and bigger over the past 14 years. 

 Think you know you’ll never win enough back , none of us will, we get that one big win and we withdraw most but keep a few hundred to play, we loose that and put the rest back in, loose that and put the next salary in.

we never beat the bookie the casino, we are addicts and their best customers . Stick the finger up at them accept you can’t beat them by winning money but by not giving them another penny.
