Hello @djb05,

Welcome to the GamCare forum. I'm really glad you have joined. It sounds as though it has been a really hard time for you, but you are taking a really good step by seeking support here.

You can also speak 1-1 with an adviser at any time on 0808 8020 133, on WhatsApp (020 3031 8881) or on our LiveChat; these are all available 24 hours every day. An adviser can talk you through lots of different support available to help you stop gambling.

I am concerned that you have not eaten for days. If you need help with food, you can find this through https://www.trussell.org.uk/. Citizens Advice or your GP should be able to issue a food voucher if needed. You can also contact your local council if you need an emergency food parcel.

There are also food sharing apps you can use such as:  https://www.toogoodtogo.com/ , https://fareshare.org.uk/ https://olioapp.com/en/ , https://thefelixproject.org/ and  https://freemymeal.co.uk/ .

You can find a community fridge at
https://www.hubbub.org.uk/the-community-fridge . There may also be community kitchens offering free meals in your area.

StepChange also have information on emergency funding at https://www.stepchange.org/debt-info/emergency-funding.aspx .

It's possible your local JobCentre Plus may be able to help you with travel expenses: https://www.gov.uk/contact-jobcentre-plus

If your appetite is being affected due to gambling, I would suggest speaking with your GP. I would also encourage you to seek support around your mental health.

Support in England/Wales - https://www.mind.org.uk/

Support in Scotland - https://www.samh.org.uk/

Support in Northern Ireland - https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/mental-health-support

You can always call 111 for urgent mental health support or you may be able to access support through a crisis house. In an emergency, please go to A&E or call 999.

Remember with the right support in place, people can and do recover from gambling harm.

Warm wishes,

Sophie
