I've recently become a member of this online community because I believe it could be beneficial for my growth. The opportunity to interact with individuals who share similar experiences, document my journey, and reflect on it in times of need seemed appealing to me.
I'm a late-thirties-something hailing from Scotland. Over the past few years, my gambling habits have escalated frequently and in the amounts wagered. Predominantly, my betting has been digital, revolving around games like slots and blackjack. Though I admit I've experienced occasional setbacks, I feel somewhat accomplished as my efforts to curb this behavior yield results, albeit slowly. I still have a long road ahead, but I'm making progress.
So, here I am on my first day, acknowledging for the first time that I have a problem that I need to manage. In spite of the immense stress this issue has added to my life, I recognize the silver lining - it is still possible to regain control of my life, both financially and mentally. I won't deny that I'm currently in a financial rut, but I'm optimistic that it's not insurmountable.
I appreciate your time reading my story, and I hope you can forgive any rambling; when I pen my thoughts down, they flow freely.
