hi there. Gambled my way into 9ks worth of debt. Put my last ever bet and played my last ever game of poker. Saying goodbye to ten years worth of gambling
Glad to hear that Anonymous. What do you think you will be doing differently this time?
Hi anonymius,
It's great that you recognise it's time to call it a day with gambling.
You've got to have a plan to help you succeed. Take advice from Gamcare, maybe in the form of counselling. You need to put very strong measures in place as well to prevent further gambling.
Best Wishes.

Good luck in your journey I'm on day 30 it's getting easier by the day good luck
Hi Anonymius,
Welcome to the forum, and thanks for your post.
It’s good news to read that you’ve finally given up after 10years of gambling; perhaps having realised that gambling messes up several areas of your life – family, friends, finances, put you in huge debt (we are talking £9,000 of debt here), and places you in a difficult situation where you’ll have nothing to show for your hard work.
It may be helpful to you if you can open up a bit more about your gambling problem – to say whether you gamble online or, at the bookies, or both, so we can advise you accordingly.
It is important that you have some strategies for stopping gambling in place in order to avoid a relapse. You can overcome your gambling problem, Anonymius, however, it’s important that you follow the advice that we offer you in regard to stopping.
I suggest that you contact our free phone Helpline on: 0808 8020 133, and speak to one of our advisers about the type of strategies and boundaries to help you stop. An adviser can also refer you for 12 sessions of free counselling, and nearest to where you live, if you think that would help you to overcome your problematic gambling.
Our services start from 8.00am to midnight, everyday of the week.
Thanks once again for your post, and pls. stay strong and keep up the good work.
Best wishes,
Beatrice
