Spent the whole day with my daughter - lovely day
never near gambling or even thinking about it
great feeling !
Out for tea with my family right now - a much better way to spend the few quid I have
going on holiday tomorrow for a 1 week so won't have the opportunity to gamble!
Nice enjoy your holiday and when you get back, you'll already be nearly 2 weeks gamble free.
Good afternoon !
got some wifi and thought I would update how my hol is going - fantastic 5 days with my family in the sun with plenty eating and drinking!
Im now on day 9 of no gambling - I would have been scurrying around trying to get wifi and watch horses and sport instead the whole time with my partner and daughter - a great feeling !
I watched the derby on sat in a bar and took great pleasure in not having a bet and still being able to watch it without temptation to have a bet
big challenge coming up when I get back with royal ascot , euros, us open all about to start -
Keep strong peeps
Glad to hear you are enjoying your holiday.
Just keep focussed when you come back, get straight back on the gamble free journey and get any further blocks you may need in place to avoid the temptation.
Well 2 weeks is done!
Wow oh what a feeling! Even managed to watch all euros without a hesitation or temptation to bet
royal ascot and a golf major is gonna be tough but I'm 100% committed to achieve this!
Congrats on 2 weeks ! I'm 2 weeks tomorrow. I also love royal ascot and especially the US open. Going to be hard but going to remember the horrible feelings I used to have after every loss, every lie, every bad nights sleep, and think even if the golfer I'd normally back wins it, that in the long run I'm much better off not gambling, no amount won can be better than going back into the gambling trap. Let enjoy it for what it is, top golf on a bloody hard course ha, best wishes !
Thanks Andrew
yeah US open what a course this year! No bets may make it more fun to watch tho! ha ha
ascot today was tough to be honest looked at the racing and was tempted to be honest but hey 15 days now or on week 3 we should call it! There is only one winner! That's the big bit to remember !
Evening all - quick update on me diary 17 days in and still no gambling
today has been the toughest, been out for the football and my mates all betting on the game in play !! Tough to just watch ( even though I had no way of having a bet ) - royal ascot and us open also on ! Would have been a day to go wild on normally and bet all day!! - proud of myself however and getting through this week will be huge personally !
That's a great day all round, what with England winning as well. It's like a slot machine addict, being in an arcade, with all their mates playing and not putting a single penny in the machines.
You will probably find amongst your mates, some who are also spending far too much on gambling, so hopefully will be inspired to stop spending so much. When I started to stop gambling, I was out with mates, who were feeding £10 after £10 into slot machines in a pub, I just sat from a distance, watching them, thinking yes it is madness to do that, isn't it.
Yeah they were all on England - glued to phones looking for cash out options not enjoying the match or getting into the excitement of it
I did just watch them squirm and get adjitated!
3 weeks today - feeling good
tough yesterday with football F1 and us open golf - but hey got through it although the temptation was there strong still last night !
That's great news, nearly at the 1 month mark.
Thanks Steve - great feeling to have money left over a week before payday and not had to borrow or move Direct Debits around ! Managed to do some nice things with my family, eat well and not have any pesky arguments with my mrs that I'm "in a mood again"
Oh yes, that feeling of actually having money, was to me, more exciting, than any gamble was.
To not be worried about looking at your bank statement and to not see a month of depressing £50, £100 deposits to gambling sites. To know if you want to get a treat for yourself, or someone else, it's possible, no excuse needed as to where all your money has gone.
Keep strong and keep going.
Thanks for the encouragement Steve I appreciate it !
