Well I've tried quitting gambling many times and have failed each time. I am fed up of feeling low and losing and spending stupid amounts of money to online slots. These have become my best friend and worst enemy for many years. I hate feeling guilty and need to do this for myself and my children. I've always gone it alone but now I am reaching out for help, support and encouragement as I start this new journey in my life. I know it will be hard and I am scared of the side effects I will have , I.e withdrawal symptoms , depression , loneliness and boredom. Sleepless nights and incredible cravings but I can't afford to fail this time. I am a compulsive gambler who gambles every single day from morning til night. This is the beginning of a new healthier happier life I hope. Would appreciate support and thankyou for reading this
Hello Pinky and welcome to the forum! You have taken the very brave step of admitting and recognising your addiction. You should start by opening your recovery diary (if you haven't already). This is a brilliant site - you will find so much support and encouragement - you are right in as much admit isn't easy but, you can get there .... read others diaries and keep posting. Everyone is in the same position here - all fighting this hideous addiction. Have you confided in anyone else? I haven't ... you can tell everyone here your innermost feelings ....it helps so much. Remember those awful feelings you have after gambling? You will eventually lose them ......remember you can NEVER win if you gamble.!it all goes back .... For me, it's the slots! Am being strong and gamble free.....keep posting and reading. Whenever you get the urge.....get onto the forum instead! I spend hours on here. Best wishes! Helen. X
