Hi there everyone,

This is not my first time writing in this forum, the first time must have been at least 7 or 8 years ago and oh boy if I could rewind to then and take real action and real steps toward recovery with my situation as it was then I would! But I’m done thinking that way because thinking of the ‘if I could .. ‘ and ‘if I only just ...’ is what got me in to this mess.

I’m 27 years old and online slots was always my weakness however as of lately I’ve found the lovely roulette *sighs*. Naively I thought if I played live roulette that there’s no way it could be rigged as it’s live and that I had a ‘technique’ yet weirdly enough when you have a big win or big withdrawal then all of a sudden every spin is a losing one? .. just like the slots? Live my a**e haha!

So fast forward to now and without going into too much detail .. I racked up about 25K worth of debt over the years and am now on a trust deed which started last May. I haven’t gambled since Sunday however if the TD company asked for my bank statement for the weeks prior to that then I’d be screwed .. hundreds of pounds worth of deposits. Surely being on a TD would be enough to stop me but I also chase that feeling of feeling so rich when you win and on cloud 9, then deciding to just bet another £20/£30 then another and another until your deposit is unsuccessful due to there being £0 in the bank (sure we’ve all been there).

Anyway I’m not chasing the past anymore, I’m looking onwards and upwards. My first step was that I signed up for gam stop (which I have never done before) .. that’s how seriously I’m taking it!

So gamstop is in place and I tested it out on my go to site to make sure it has worked and I’m blocked- feel such a relief that that monster inside me can’t get let free at nighttime while I’m sat watching tele, when I’m sat in the car waiting to go into the house, when I’m trying to sleep at night etc. This is the furthest I have got with taking action before as I have never installed gamstop .. and I chose the five year option. 8 days GF, onwards and upwards ...

Thank you, good luck to you too.

Yeah the trust deed has helped with my debt but has screwed me for any credit (mortgage etc) for at least six or so years :/

Tonight we are going to the cinema with £30 that we have left from the weekend .. £30 that id usually do on one spin of the table if I had it left.

Best of of luck to you too .. as hard as it is I think the best option is to look forward and try and improve on the situation the best we possibly can ..

GamStop will hopefully help massively, still haven’t told anyone and not sure whether to ..
