I’ve been a problem gambler all my adult life and gone through periods without but today I blew a load of money in the bookies. On reflection it’s been building up to a big loss I’ve been gambling for a while and been lucky. As im sure some people can relate to I started off with no intention of gambling so much but got sucked in to the fobts and now I’m feeling the usual gambler regret. So today sadly is day one again, need to get back all my barriers and do this I’m getting too old!

Hi Clifford,

It seems me and you have lived the same life, when it comes to our terrible addiction anyway.

I myself just came out of a 6 month long relapse. Only when I hit rock bottom did I see gambling for what it is again.

I'm also not getting younger. This time really does seem different for me. I see it as my last chance.

I'm here with you. STAY STRONG.

I'm 16 days GF today.

Wretches and Kings 🖤

I was gambling in both bookies and Casino, i  had a huge loss previously in the bookies and it was enough to put me off putting big amount as i had a session of lossing 3x the amount of the biggest prize, however i still had faith in casino it only when i took a loan out and did something i would not do and lose it all was my turning point this was over a year ago since then i have not only paid 5k debt off and spend around 6k on things needed doing all thanx to not placing a bet i have also reduced my hours as my health has detoriated and im more then enough comfortable what shocked me was the amount i was lossing with weeks doing 60 plus hours, the debt itself was my turning point i was also one of those would lose it then go weeks and even a few months then repeat the process again

Everyone needs a day 1 mate, well done on starting the journey to a better life. As gamblers we can only really achieve one day at a time so we are all in the same boat. Doesn’t matter if it’s your first day 1 or you’re 5th. The journey can only progress one day at a time. Use your previous experiences as learning. Change the things that drew you back. Use the help in here and whatever you do, block everything you can.

Keep us posted.

Stay strong 💪

Well two weeks on and no gambling in that time. Really happy with that but surprisingly still thinking about the loss of that day which is weird because I’ve lost so much over the years. However not losing money since had been great. Hope everyone is ok on their own journey
