Just want to say to everyone that this site can help so much. Even reading other people's posts and the devastation caused by gambling keeps it fresh in your mind how bad things can get. I have now stopped for 65 days since joining this site and many times had strong strong urges to gamble on slots but come on here and read posts and get the strength to resist. Also, putting gamcare on my laptop and mobile and smashing my kindle took away the option to gamble online. I lost over £20k gambling ...£10k in 5 months and the ******** won't get a penny more. Wishing everyone success on their journey and never give up the fight. Thanks again to everyone who supported me at the beginning of my journey.
Well done Mary. Great to hear this. I cannot agree more with everything you have said. This is a great site and everyone supports everyone. Cannot give it enough credit. It's certainly needed with the way the gambling industry is. They all "promote responsible gaming" but becoming addicted sadly is not a choice!! All the best. Hope to hear more from you soon T xx
Hi Mary , Wow !, listen to you girl !!, I 'm so glad you stuck around , it's great to see the difference in your post from when you first commented !.
Lovely to hear you sounding so alive and full of life !.
Take care Mary , keep posting and well done on those 65 days of winning !! ................................Alan x
Thanks Tizzy and Alan for your high praise, felt quite emotional as it's been a long time since I felt proud of myself. I'm so much happier and feeling better every day. The urges are still strong at times and I know if I didn't have gamblock in place in a moment of weakness I would be going on line and playing. It just proves the importance of putting barriers in place. That one second of weakness could be devastating. Most of the time I remember the depression, self loathing, throwing up, shaky legs, sleepless nights and keep telling myself why would I want to return to that hell. It's a constant battle but barriers are so important.
Well done Mary, that is quite an achievement and I'm glad you're feeling happier in yourself. Day 10 for me and I don't think I would have managed without Gamblock either. Definitely the best purchase in a while.
Keep up the good work and best wishes x
Well done Mary!
