I work in finance go figure ?.. ive got myself into a mess a good chunk higher than your debt..i could get a DMP  without effecting my job or proffessionalbody status ..which has given me some great relief and to be honest you shouldnt be too bothered about your credit file right now as you shouldnt want to borrow more and more right now considering whilst you arent in a position to actually use it properly. good luck 

Just ring stepchange and read out your initial post to them down the phone. They won't judge or demean you... They will literally just be pragmatic in offering a professional service and advising you on how to get out of the hole.

I believe they are funded my creditors in order to operate, therefore their agenda is to help you as best they can, to appease their funding sources.

They are basically one of the few amazing, humanistic resources left in modern life. Use them before they fade into obscurity like all the other good stuff. Best of luck ?✊
