Hello everyone as you may know if you read my prior posts I have nothing to live on until April 18th. I pawned my Tv today for 150. My last decent possession. I lost the money. Bad as well that I live in temp accommodation and they told me I’m going to handle the money. So I have embarasssd myself even further. You guys have been really kind to me and I’m sorry but I’m not a good guy. I only cry out for help when I have no money and have unbearable panic attacks . I don’t know who I am or what I’ve become. I wish you all the best with your recoveries

Ryan,

you are not a bad guy. You are in the grip of an addiction that has affected many of us on here. Please don’t give up the fight against it. The support is here and you can recover from where you are now. I feel for you, I really do.

I hate the pain too. So much so that I found refuge in the slots. What happened was that the refuge I looked for became the pain I wanted to avoid. The whole dance becomes a spiral going down. There are no ups. The aftermath is destitution but that is also the beginning of change. This kind of walking through hell thing makes you much stronger. You will come out of this because every book has a new page and you are no exception to that. What you need now is to focus on is what you want for your self from this point in life? We all need to plan and we need to follow the plan that we make. We (gamblers) have all had broad directions, which means that we have not planed at all. Write your plan down. Put your plans on that piece of paper and imagine when and how you are going to get there. You will start to believe and go for it, but it demands your attention. Like old Churchill said this is not the beginning of the end it is the end of the beginning.

You are not a bad person. You are just going through a change in your life and you will get better from that change.

Stay strong and never give up never surrender!

Hi Ryan

I can guarantee that every single one of us on here has gambled away our last penny when we shouldn’t have. I’ve done it loads of times and then wondered why the f**k I did it when I lost and I lost every time.

You’ve take a step in the right direction by coming on here in the first place. And you are not a bad person you’re just going through a s**t time. But there is plenty of help And support available, and I know at the moment the help you need is with money and I know it’s not that simple to ‘just quit’ as a lot of people say to gambling addicts and they just don’t understand.

Do you gamble online? If so then literally just self exclude yourself from the apps, download them all and self exclude to take away that temptation. And if you go Into a bookies you can self exclude in there too by filling out a form. You may know to do this already but this has what’s stopped me from gambling.

Just take each day at a time, and I promise you you’ll feel so much better by not gambling because you’re not losing money and won’t worry about not having money too.

I hope you sort out your current situation and get some support to see you through to your next pay day. Stay strong and better days will come!!
