Another tip, get a savings account with no card access and preferably one that doesn't allow withdrawals without notice.

On payday, immediately transfer as much money you can afford to it, while making sure you don't leave yourself too short for essentials.

You could be surprised at how much you can put in it each month.

Gamblers logic is to say I have no spare money, but strangely I do have money too gamble.

Hi everyone.

Thanks for all your posts of support and tips.

Still gamble free and have now started a "Recovery Diary" .

My problem Steve70 is that I don't get a payday as such and nor does my hubby as we are both self employed and get paid as and when we can get people to cough up so to speak.

I think this has been part of my problem as I am a bit of a control freak and planner and hate not being able to plan ahead for bills and things. I am always left panicking about when more money might come in.

Still, I have now proved that gambling to try and get a little more does not work and just takes the little I have.

I need to change my whole mindset about money and the constant bills and try and focus more on what is really important such as my hubby and son.

It's hard when it is me that has the responsibility to make sure things get paid and there is food on the table each day.

xxxx
