Hi all
have been gambling for a few years but only recently had it been a problem and got out of control. Lost a big amount this week so decided enough was enough. Now signed up on here after speaking to someone and have arranged counselling and blocked from all betting accounts online for the longest I could. Have been saying for ages I need to stop and not listened then carried on and regret it. But hey, we are only human. Important thing now is to move on.
hope everyone is doing well with going cold turkey!
Hello JayT
Welcome to the forum, I can see that you have had a big loss and acknowledged your gambling is out of control.
Well done for making the decision to seek support with counselling, blocking software and speaking to an Advisor.
I hope you find the forum useful for communication with others who are in recovery. Do take a look at the other sections, we have the recovery diaries which you may find a good tool for managing your journey.
Kind regards
Cade

Thought I'd put an update as it seems good to write this down and get it out, might also help others.
Has only been 4 days but feel better. Girlfriend and family have both been very supportive even if they don't understand then again not sure I really do. Haven't lost as much as others here but still enough to effect me and realise it's a problem which I need to recover from.
Had my first counselling session yesterday and must advise others to take the option. They are open and honest and don't judge, just look to help. Would recommend anyone struggling to give it a go, I was a bit unsure of the idea but glad I did it.
Hope everyone is doing well in recovery
