I've come in here today as I have finally had enough I bet over 1000 last night and that all my saving gone in a matter of minutes I find myself constantly think about my next bet the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night after betting all my saving last night that was the last straw I really want to stop and somehow I've got to try and get my saving back up it is going to be a stuggle to get them back up now but I really had enough this time
Am sorry to hear about your big loss mate, let this lost be a lesson, and let’s hope it’s the last lesson you learn on this topic, I keep saying nothing good comes from gambling and it’s so true, the wins don’t come enough and the losses seem to come 9 times out of 10. Let your pain encourage you to not want to feel this way again. As a gambler you can’t have anything in life because eventually you will lose it all. Regarding the virtual football, it’s the biggest fix out there, along with the virtual dogs and horses, don’t trust anything computerised especially when money involved
Addiction mathematics= You need more of the same to get on with the high so your bets would just get bigger and bigger to get you that dopamine kick you need and if you think about it you are just betting to get high. That's it. It is repeat behaviour. Read up on changing your state. Tony Robbins is a good teacher and there are many audiobooks if you do not enjoy reading.
All the best

Wise words in the post above mine. Why do we do it? There is a lot of scientific evidence out there to explain all the rubbish that is taking place in our brains while we are in gambling mode. Dopamine hits take place every time we win, then after a while these hits take place just by putting on a bet. And all the while the dopamine dominates in rewarding you for your behaviour while gambling, it becomes less effective in normal areas of your life, such as enjoying time with loved ones, etc...
Because the chemicals your brain create lead you to addictive behaviour it’s really not easy to overcome. It’s like trying to come off a drug but the good news is that people do recover from substance abuse and from gambling. Best of luck, it won’t be easy but if you understand what is going on “up there” you are giving yourself a chance.
Hiya Ashley
Sorry to hear about you losing all your savings but my friend if you continue to gamble this will be a recurance through your life therefore never having no savings for any length off time. I don't mean to be harsh so please don't take it that way. But your only way off ganning your savings back is by doing what it says in the word is saving. But you'll only continue to lose but your losses will be more. First thing you've got to do is use gamstop and gameban to stop betting online, next thing is self exclude from all betting shops you have round and about you. Then the most important thing is to put your £1000 down as a loss my friend as its in the past and gone, your never going to get that back and if you try by chasing you'll only continue to lose and have nothing as on this site we realize we're problem gamblers and need to stop. As we have to stop ourselves gambling 365dys of the year the gambling company's only need us to relapse one off those days. Good luck on your journey taken one day at a time
yea ive had a gutsfull too not just from gambling but the whole sorry state the world is in at the moment
