Never dwell on past losses, the money is gone, sure it's caused damage, but in nearly all cases, the damage can be repaired, even if partly.

I guess I was lucky, my damage was monetary only, with thousands of pounds worth of debt. That sort of damage can definitely be repaired, once the gambling is stopped. Either paying off the debt, via normal payments, via a debt management plan or bankrupcy if needed, but it can be repaired.

Over time I could have bought a house with my gambling losses, but thankfully, I finally woke up and smelt the coffee when I was 38.

I don't look back, I only look forward and stopping the gambling, means I'll be able to afford to retire in my late 50's, rather than most likely not been able to retire and still working in my 70's and 80's should I be lucky enough to make it.
