Hi all
Im starting again and this is day 2. I WILL see this through to the wnd of 2014 this time.
Thanks so much Mr B. I'm checking back in and this is day 3 without a bet following my slip up. I have started a new diary and I need to really get back to what worked last December. I feel bad coming back after a slip up, my aim was always to see out the full year and now I have failed twice. I need to learn from my slip and make sure I see out the remaining two and a bit months and set the foundations in place for a brilliant gamble free 2015.
Thanks for all the support and I am glad I have found my way back here as its a great group of people.
Checking in on day 32, so wish I could of done this early.
Anyway stay strong people, onwards and upwards.
Day 129
Hope everyone is well xxx
Evening everyone,
That's the front page updated with all the check ins for the week so far.......what on earth happens on Wednesdays? So quiet!
It's great to see a couple of battle weary team mates checking in - bornagain and mba - dust yourself down and use the rest of the group whenever you need to. It's going to happen for you guys - super confident of that.
staffie44 - Ben, I read your post on this challenge and them on your own page and really hope that you're still looking at this thread and still on the site for support. Even more so I hope that you're state of mind is being helped by a sustained period of not gambling. You've been given some great advice around the tools and techniques for stopping......you will find a path that works for you, but there are a couple of musts I think you need to consider. The first is to open up to your mum - she may be disappointed but you need her support. The second thing is to go and see the doctor and speak to him or her about support for your mental well being. There are things you have said in other posts that are really concerning. I lost my wee brother to suicide 5 years ago and it is unimaginably devastating. The impact on family is immeasurable and indescribable and I would do anything to turn back the clock to beg him to seek help. Please take steps to ensure your family doesn't have to suffer what we have been through. We'd love to support you in your journey of stopping gambling. All the asks are in the very front page of this thread - have a read of them and if you're up for joining us then pop another post on and we'll formally welcome you in Sunday. Please take care.
It's Friday tomorrow - only one week and a day to go Duncs!!
Have a nice night everyone and catch up soon.
Mr Brightside
Hi Mr B and fellow soldiers - Checking in on my Day 245.
Phil - so glad you have returned to the fold.
No matter what the blip, the fact that you are still 'with' us is a great indication of your commitment to the cause and your strength.
Remember that your blips are just that - minor trips and not the devastating car crashes that might have been the case in the bad old days.
Best wishes to all.
Joanna
