Phil,

Thanks so much for taking the time and effort in organising the 2015 challenge which is beneficial to so many, in so many different ways. I think the phone idea is a really good one and will forward you my details. Mikes story really hit home to me that although this is going to be a life challenge, it can be beaten and a better life awaits those that really want it.

Gamble free for 16 days now (same as markb117), and looking forward to a gamble free 2015.

Have a good week all.

Andy

Great first update Big Philla - your toes are already poking out of the end of those shoes you spoke about!! Thanks for taking this on - was wonderful waking up this morning and not having to think about it!

Brilliant to see all the feedback for Phil and positivity on the Challenge. Don't let it slip everyone - this will be a tough week when people in the team will face temptation - it's a bit like the gym in January.......full of people with great intent, but ultimately a lot don't have the staying power or commitment to see it through into February.......what Phil has started this year is awesome, don't let your intention to stop gambling be like those January gym members!!

Checking in for this week Phil!

Hello everyone day 2 for me and I feel like a toddler with a mountain to climb looking at how many days some people have already abstained for, along way to go for
me but I'm really happy to be in the 2015 challenge. Thanks born again for the posts and reading everyone's stories is really touching. Good luck everyone

Hi Phil

I'd love to join your challenge. My names Leanne I'm 30yrs old. I'm addicted to online slots and after spending thousands and losing the trust of my husband the time has come to stop.

Looking forward to the challenge x

Great update Phil. So pleased to see so many people up for the challenge. Hopefully this group will give people the extra boost they need to stay off it for 2015.

Checking in day 10

Hope all are doing well with the challenge. Enjoyed reading the first update from Sunday - many thanks for running this it's certainly motivational to remain stopped.

Not found things too bad the last few days as I've been heavily focused on work and going back after time off.

Best wishes to all.

Hi all, can I enlist please?! Can anyone tell me how to join the group? Thanks.

Have a read of the opening post at the start of the thread so you know whats expected of you and if you want to join you need to make a check in post before midnight on Saturday with some information about yourself and how many days free from gambling you are.

Welcome to the challenge Leanne, the only thing missing from your post is a count of how many days since your last bet. If you can make a check in post anytime before midnight Saturday night with the amount of days free from gambling you will be added to this weeks update.

Hi Phil,

I would really like to be a part of the 2015 challenge.

I am 40, gambling for 27 years. Hit some real hard lows in that time but managed to keep swimming - if sometimes struggling to keep afloat - time to put this nonsense to rest.

Last gambled on Sat 3 Jan 2015 where I lost £ in under an hour on a FOBT high stake slot, it was painful but after so much experience of similar situation I can 'manage my emotion' and 'even keel' myself very quickly but.... That's a skill I'd be happy to lose and not need to employ anymore!

My first (and last) baby boy arrived in Dec 14, his eyes are starting to focus now and I cannot have my gambling problem affecting him negatively by influencing me adversely - he is the pivot point but it's also time my problem was arrested and shackled.

Good luck one and all, best wishes.

Ps. I read some really great comments on this thread and I'm no fool and know I need to belong to the 2015 Challenge group if you'll add me to the ranks I'll do my very best to help hold the line against our common enemy.

Thanks for the message TickFollowsTock, you will be added to the list on the front page and included in this weeks update. Lets hope that experience on Saturday will be the last time you play on a FOBT.

Hi Phil.

I would like to become a member, at this moment in time I am extremely unhappy and I feel that I need to turn my life around to ensure I am happy again!

I am 21 years of age and I feel that my youth has been taken from me but I still have time.

I feel this challenge will help me a lot in trying to overcome this horrendous addiction.

I have remained gambe free for a shameful 2 hours and I am now going to say no to gambling. I hope I have everyone's support.

Thanks
Steve
