Hi all, I've not been on here for quite a long time. There was a spell in the middle of the year when this thread went through a transition and I found I was being more of a hindrance than help through late check ins. I've just popped back to tell anyone new to the challenge and considering a 2016 challenge what a huge help it can be. I was in a very low place, and the simple act of checking in once a week and reading everyone's messages kept me in check and kickstarted my recovery. Today I reached 1 year without gambling, and my life has changed dramatically as a result. None of it would have been possible without the support of this challenge for the first half of the year. Anyone wavering about its value or considering a 2016 challenge - please please do. It really can help a lot!

And just to add a massive well done for those that kept the challenge running when it threatened to die, your commitment changes lives, I salute you!

119 days today. I can't believe I've made it this far. I finally feel like I've cracked this demon although I will keep on checking in as watching the days increase keeps me on the straight and narrow.

Heres to a good Christmas ! Well done to gingermotty on your one year! Thanks for popping by to let us know how you got on !

Time4honesty you too, you've done amazing. I remember reading your story when you first joined the challenge and I felt then that you sounded like a determined woman ! You've done great and I'm so glad you're reaping the rewards of turning your back on gambling.

Hi guys. Checking in on day 321! I've been rubbish with checking in lately but it's only because gambling is such a distant thought. When I think how much money I lost in my 8 years of gambling it makes me sick with what else I could of had and the things I could have done. I'm glad it's seemingly over now! Not long until the new year now guys. Keep strong. Don't let Christmas leave, alot of free time, and some booze lead you to gamble. Merry Christmas!

Day 115
Missed another week but happy to say it's because I have been busy with life and not that I am a fallen soldier
