Recently joined the site (again) and am on day 6 with no urges at all - as yet. I find after the first few weeks the urges become greater sadly 🙁

Hi all,

A little bit tardy - but please find below total for the 24 of us checking in. Welcome to the new member and to richb06 for smashing through 200 days this week.

Welcome back to mrdaniel (623 days gf since he was last on the challenge) and also to dan1981.

Appreciate it can be a tough time at the moment in the run-up to Christmas, money can be tight be gambling is never the answer for a CG.

Oh well! Here goes!

Today is day 1! I lapsed yesterday when I saw an ad on Twitter so opened up another account.

I have lapsed for the 4th time since joinin this community.

I'm completely ashamed of myself and spent yesterday walking around like a zombie having lost 500 quid. Anyways. Back to the same old horrible feeling.

Stay strong mate and start again it seems for me like it's always there even though I managed to do 18 months approximately before the weekend just gone. In one weekend I have now undone probably 9 months good chipping away at debt. I have literally just eaten for the first time since yesterday morning which has helped the anxiety and feeling so down. All you can do as I can is start again.

Thanks for the update Gary - I'm checking in day 48.

Welcome back to those rejoining us and good to see mrdaniel is still doing well. Couple of people slipping up this week. Stay focussed and try to break the triangle - think how you can make it nearly impossible to gamble. I have blocking software on my phone - I don't even know the password for instance! I have this on my laptop too. I try to put any (rare) savings into accounts that aren't easy access as if I ever get overcome by urges and gamble, it's a bit of damage limitation.

Not long now till Christmas run up ... And we all know our lives are so much happier around our friends and family without gambling. Keep strong everyone - day 1 - doesn't matter. If you've stopped before for lengthy periods - you will have learnt so much about how to manage your addiction already - so it's day one in numbers - but think of the total days you've been gamble free and move forwards - you are in a much stronger position to quit than someone who only just decided for the first time to try and quit.
