Also still here. Day 199 from sunny Menorca. Couldn’t get the WiFi working to check in. As the form mid said.. thanks for this thread. It has truly been a massive help for me (probably more than anything as I love a challenge) and I guess that’s the purpose.

thanks k2 and all involved. Love and peace to you all. X

Hi @ineffable ,

So sorry to hear you are having a tough time. It is completely normal to have bad days as well as good so don't give yourself such a hard time. It seems like you are struggling to break bad habits and that is understandable.

It is certainly not wrong to seek something better, more peaceful and stable. Keep sharing and posting and please remember to contact us on the netline or helpline 0808 802 0133 between 8am- midnight if you want to talk.

all the very best

Checking in 21/07/19 day 365. I can’t believe I have gone a whole year without gambling, ive been trying to quit for 18 years and never thought I could do it. I’m still not complacent and take it day by day. Blocks and self exclusion has been key for me especially the self exclusion from land casinos and online, without these I fear I could never quit.

🙂

That's fantastic - its exactly how I feel.

5 year exclusion was just a massive weight off my shoulders and I think proved to myself I was serious about stopping.

Must have self excluded for short periods from literally dozens of sites individually over the years, in hindsight it was always just a desire to repair slightly my finances or wait for the next loan / credit card to come through.

Totally agree, people are to afraid to commit to long term self exclusion including myself, I used to do 6 month stints of self exclusion from my local casinos and then count the days down till it elapsed, did 5 years from the lot this time which probably isn’t enough either ....
