Just a bit on this film. I think I saw it when I was about 12 or 13 and it really scared the life out of me and I vowed to never go to Louisianna
Anyway, the topic is about getting out of one's comfort zone. For too long, in addiction, I wouldn't push myself. My partner keeps telling me to do so and I had the incredible opportunity to speak to a large audience recently about my story which I was dreading but pushed myself.
On a meeting yesterday, the facilitator who I know quite well talked to me about this and I used to love poetry as you might have seen on Saturday's post but i don't feel comfortable putting it out there. She said, if I wanted to get out of the comfort zone I might want to run one today. I unfortunately mentioned this to someone else and they suggested I not only do it, but also in the style of my favourite poet John Cooper Clarke. For anyone that doesn't know him, I always think of his poetry as like listening to a steam train, chug chug chug chug. It's very rhythmic, somewhat Punk Rockish and fast. I absolutely love his work. So here is my addiction poem butchering his style.

No Objection, No Interjection, No Protection, No Connection
Wizardry, Hid Misery, All Lizardry and Kiddery
Didn't Pray, So I'm the Prey, More Free Play, It's No Way
Money Lust, Down to a Crust, Now I'm Bust, Lost all Trust
Link the Dots, That Led to Slots, Stomach Knots, All Robots
One Last Token, Promise Spoken, Not Awoken, Then i'm Broken
Life Diminish, Why i Punish, God I'm Selfish, When's this Finish
Family Grilling, Are you Willing, GA Billing, Control Killing

This long Ramble, a Preamble, Life's a Shamble, If you Gamble
Hi S.
Brilliant Poem . You're great with words.
John Cooper Clark. I had Never heard of him before . But saw him on Jimmy's Carrs does Countdown.
He was in dictionary corner. He was very funny. Strong man accent.
He had the panel make up a few poems and read them out.
Guy with the beard . Can't recall his name. His was hilarious.
Affected by gambling?
