I was just wondering if spending money on game apps is a form of gambling, like on your phone like coin master and candy crush? Since stopping on actual gambling sites Ive noticed that Ive been using this instead and Im spending more money then Id like but Im doing impulsivly, I know it probably not gambling as such but wanted others opinion on it

@walks15 All I can give you is my own experience, not what I think.

When I played the app games after stopping gambling, apart from spending money, I found that my behaviours went back to how they were when I was gambling. I started lying again about how much I was spending, I started to get obsessed with the game, I wasn’t sleeping properly and it started to affect my daily life. Once I deleted it I felt a huge sense of relief.

I knew someone else who kept it a secret and ended up with over £10K in debt on a credit card by playing.

Take from that what you will.

Chris.

@chris-uk I really appreciate you sharing that with me. Yeah I can just feel the impulsiveness like I did when I was gambling, and see certain patterns relating too that, Thankyou you sharing that it is helpful. I didn't know if it was something or nothing so too speak but yeah I can see your points.

Take care

Change comes in four ways.  When you are in so much pain that

you have to change. When you see so much that you are inspired

to change . When you you learn so much that you want to change

or when you receive so much that you are able to change.

The game thing with candy crush is just you supplementing your chemical imbalance to

get a dopamine spike as you were getting that hit when you gambled.

Do not beat yourself up for that. You need 6 weeks clean to balance and feel more normal.

Learn everything you can so you want to change.

Best

C
