Hi everyone I'm new on here but so far I've got something out of reading about how everyone is doing.I've started out again with medical help and counselling having done it before and not gambled for almost two years. I started again last year same old excuses of stress and work ect and didn't put any of the measures in place to stop when I could have. The switch went inside the head and from being outside the casino and walking away a few weeks later I was making excuses to get in even though I was excluded, its wasn't too difficult and several months later I'm right back to square one.I don't want to go on through life anymore with this hanging over me but its always going to be there in my head that I need this fix. I wish I was different and want to be different,if there was an operation I'd have it today but its not as easy as that. Had a big b*****iing this morning from my wife which has upset her as much as me and to be honest sometimes I don't know the difference in truth reality lies or just don't know even though I've got not much more to lose.

I've wrote the letters again to all those places but at the end of it its down to me to fight the urges and just to tell people. Its the not talking that has done it. Get that bit right and there might be hope.

Hi Steve,

i did'nt have much time on Friday to read through many of the latest forum posts. Just seen yours now and you are right the buck stops with you. It won't be easy but I think you have reach a point now where you are ready to kick gambling into touch.

What works for me doing as much physical exercise as my body will allow. I get myself so totally knackered that negative gambling thoughts just ar not in my head. The exercise definitely lifts my mood and keeps gambling urges away. Obviously if someone is suffering from a bad health condition then this may not be the route to go down. If you are reasonably fit then it might be worth exploring.

Just wondered if you were suffering from depression. Maybe a visit to your GP with a view to the possiblity of going on anti-depressants might help you ?

We all know it's very much one day at a time when giving up gambling. If you can build up a few days of being gambling free your mind will view things more clearly.

Best Wishes and Stay Strong.
