Christmas Challenge

Here we go again another challenge. Challenges can help keep us on the right path and help give us the strength to make the right choices that are key to staying off gambling.

Christmas is a great time but is a tough time for many, for us with an addiction it can put a real strain on our resolve. The financial worries, pressures and family commitments all can get very stressful and become overwhelming. What we mustn't do is look for that escape that we often go to that causes us more and more pain than the problem we were trying to escape. So I hope this challenge can help get us through this time and end 2017 and start 2018 in the right way.

The challenge will be 3 months starting 1st November, ending 31st January. To join just post a reply on this thread and I'll add your name. To stay on the list check in at least once a week (weeks running Monday - Sunday). I will do a brief update every Monday with a list of all that have checked in for the previous week, there gamble free days and any milestones achieved. Feel free to join up at anytime from now until the challenge finishes. I hope this will help all involved.

Bring on the challenge and bring on 2018.

Below is the first update post, I have included it here to give an idea of how I'm doing them.

Good morning, first update of the challenge. First off a bit of admin, if I've missed anyone off please let me know and I'll rectify asap. Also the day counts I'm getting off your account page on the day I do the update so it's an update for the week previous but the day count is from the day I do the check in, it just makes it a little easier to do the update. If you choose not to display your gamble free days on your account page, that is fine and I will put your name on the check in list and just an X for the day count. You'll see below the list of all checked in from last Monday to Sunday then a gap and the remaining members of the challenge that did not check in. If you find yourself on the second list all you need to do is check in and you'll be promoted to the top list for the following update.

I'll copy this post and add it to the first or second post on this thread as it outlines how the updates will work.

With that out the way welcome everyone to the Christmas challenge. I'm looking forward to it. I hope that it helps us all finish the year and start 2018 in the strongest way possible. Well done to all checking in for week one. Stay strong and look forward to seeing all those check ins come in.
