Evening all, was so close to placing a bet tonight, even got to the point of opening a new account (can't add blocking soft wear as it's not only me that uses this device) but thankfully self excluded before I deposited anything. it's been 3 weeks since I placed a bet and tonight has been the first time I have really thought about it, probably because I am watching the footy and tennis. Feeling d**n good about resisting and the urge has gone.. For now! Good luck to everyone!!

Hi Argie,

Completely understand what you're feeling. I too have been fighting little urges that creep into your head. Im still relatively early in my recovery. My third major recovery attempt in 3 years or rather third major relapse. Self exclusion i have found to be the best solution and to break the triangle Money-Time-Location. Take one away and you cant gamble. Well done for resisting the urges. Keep going.

Well done on resisting and self-excluding. How I wish there were one button you could press to exclude from them all!

Thanks both for you're replies, the money, time, location theory is great, never heard that before and it makes complete sense, this is the first time in the three weeks I have been sat on my own watching sports with time to kill! The one button to exclude from all would be great, seems asthough there are new webpages opening weekly! Anyways best of luck to both of you!

Thanks again, Argie

Maybe avoiding watching sport might be the answer for a while? If it's sports betting you had a problem with maybe record matches and watching them when they're already over might help so you're not able to bet on the outcome?

Well done on not doing it! Personally i got a blocker on my phone after losing 600 quid the 45 quid or so was a small price. To go 3 weeks be sat there on your own and have the chance to deposit but still block shows real willpower i could never go to do it and back out. Your clearly stronger than you thought.
