First of all have all the blocks in place, it that really helps knowing you physically can't gamble if you have GamStop.

I also do other things such as: Binge watch lots of box sets, learn a language, help others with gambling problems.

For instance, engage in activities such as watching movies, practising mindfulness like deep breathing, or visiting the gym distract your mind away negative thoughts. You may still encounter difficulty in abstaining from gambling when these triggers are close to you.

Hi there! Welcome to the community.

When it comes to taking my mind off of something, I find that engaging in a hobby or activity that I enjoy can be really helpful. Here are a few things that work for me,  reading, music, exercise, spending time with loved ones, creative pursuits, meditation, playing video games, watching movies/TV shows, taking walks in nature, and cooking removed link Everyone is different, so what works for me might not work for someone else. It's important to experiment and find what works best for you.

Distractions are a lifeline in recovery. Try exercise, art, or learning a new skill. Reading, meditation, or volunteering can shift your focus positively. Surround yourself with supportive friends. Remember, recovery is a day at a time. You've got this!
