anyone heard of these guys? Just wondering if they self exclude you from all old and new gambling sites....
Checking in by the way!
Hi Thegerman,
It appears that this venture only offers shared databases on a community level, which means that the local gambling providers would need to be signed up to the scheme. It doesn't seem to be a comprehensive scheme at present and with online gambling, there is always the issue of providers being registered in different countries and subject to the law of the country they are registered in.
There are ways you can think about to help yourself exclude from online gambling sites. One would be to install a blocking software, depending on which technical device you use to gamble with. Take a look at
www.gamblock.com
www.betfilter.com
Depending on how you fund gambling online, you could also try and find a way to ensure that you cannot use funds online, i.e. ask your bank for a change of account which comes with a bank card that cannot be used online (most banks offer this as a basic account).
Maybe you would like to talk this through with an advisor on the HelpLine 0808 80 20 133 or on the NetLine http://www.gamcare.org.uk/support-and-counselling/frontline-services/netline#.VZEZ_i1wbv0
Both services are open from 8am to midnight every day.
I hope this helps.
Kind wishes
Gabriele
Basically I would pay money to have a company do all the leg work in blocking my email, home address and mobile from new, upcoming gambling websites.
Maybe I should provide it myself! Entrepreneur!!
