Another £3000 lost today on a credit card. Debts are spiralling.

Told my wife last year and managed to give up for a couple of months.

Shes pregnant and due to give birth next month, this would kill her if she found out.

I don't enjoy gambling and don't know why I do it. Its as simple as I don't want to. Don't know whow to get around it.

Downloaded non-gambling software on my phone and laptop, but when I want to gambling I find a work around -

Hi there

Maybe try gad over financial control, report your card lost get someone scratch off the last 3 numbers so you can't deposit.

It might be an idea to edit your first post to remove the work around as not everyone will know it and might take advantage of it.

Hi bcfc 1903,

Welcome to the Forum and thanks for posting,

I hear your 'frustration', of wanting to stop gambling, which you mentioned you 'don't enjoy' but seems to be looking and finding ways to gamble no mater what you do to try and stop.

First you are here posting about this, and this shows how keen you are to get help, and there is help.

KTF is right about giving someone you trust complete control over your finances, some have found their partners to be the right people to do this for them. I am hearing that you do not find that it is appropriate to tell your wife (who is pregnant) about this at this time, which is understandable, however there may be ways around how you could get your wife involved in your recovery if you want her to, as most people have found that getting their love ones involve in their recovery have made recowery easier for them. We can discus how you could do this with you, if you will like to talk to an advisor on our Helpline/Netline. We can also look at your debt which some have found drive them to gamble more; by sign posting you to debt mangement. We also give free counselling in most areas in the country, we can give you counselling if you would like to look at the underlying reasons why you gamble even though you do not enjoy gambling.

We have edited your post to remove some of the information that may not be helpful for forum users.

You can always talk to us in confidence on our Helpline/Netline.

Take Care
