Hi thisisruiningmylife
Sorry having a bet with your friend triggered a relapse. I'm wondering does your friend know about your struggle with gambling? Would you feel comfortable telling him? If your friends know they can support you rather than putting temptation your way.
Best wishes

Yep all of these are trigger points and the gambling mentality in anything must be avoided. It sweeps us away in the moment and of course none of us like to lose. Losing a tenner in the street or losing my gold ring are trigger points. I very nearly started gambling again after the gold ring incident because I was in another town...only something to do with train times held me off and Im glad it did because I would have emptied my bank account that day. Niggles happen but gambling is never the answer
Many gamblers like me are essentially misers so its quite complex why we gambled
Money should not be involved TIRML when you are playing fifa. Offer to wash the dishes if you lose or play for some chocolate matchmakers that you had around anyway.
However the main thing is you should have been self excluded from those sites and had blocking software on your gadgets.
I can not stress enough that willpower is not enough.. If you are relying on willpower you will relapse time and time again. A period of cold turkey is required as your mind heals.
So please keep talking about how you plan to step it up because if nothing changes, when will be the next time you will throw money away?
Best wishes from everyone on the forum

Was back on the fobts last night an lost it all again .same old story . its amazing how many times I've splashed my money to have friends calling wanting to do something.. If I can't use willpower alone what can I do.. I'm sure it will work eventually
So why aren't you using all the tools available to you ? As has been suggested to you self exclusions , blocking software and making sure you don't have access to large amount's of fund's will all help . Willpower is sometimes not enough but the fact that you can just rock up and gamble again and again say's that you don't have much in place to stop it happening ?
At the end of the day it's down to you if you keep doing the same thing over and over but you can't expect change without change, so maybe for now look at that side of thing's ? .
All the best
