when I gamble I feel terrible, but, when I don’t i I still feel awful, I am bored and fed up, but, after I have lost I feel terrible as well. Need to get a hobby to kill some of the time
Hi chipsdog.
Its about the start of deeper analysis than just getting a hobby. Getting a hobby will help but you have to work out what draws you again to the punishment and misery of gambing.
You will have seen by now that they are not offering an income scheme and its not really a get it back later scheme. Its a dangerous activity which is giving you a chemical hit while you do it
I had to work out why I had become bored and fed up...it was within me..... I had become jaded with life...evey gambling loss was something I could have spent on a better time...whether thats building a bike or a trip with the family. Watching a film, building a kit or pushing myself to join the local drama society is all more rewarding than frittering our money away for a dopamine fix.
There is always something better to do so tell yourself that. Its a road of recovery and feeling much better.
The main issue you have to talk through is why you feel awful when you dont gamble...the chase where you are ignoring the odds?..talk it through. You know what gambling has done to you and it will do that time and time again.
Best wishes from everyone on the forum
