I went almost a month gamble free, gave in this weekend after a boys get away, done £50.
This year i have done around £2,000.
I want to stop but i feel as long as i have access i wont, I have requested a new bank card and will get someone to scratch off the 3 digits on the back so that I cant use it, im hoping This will hell me get used to life without gambling and gradually reduce my urge.
For those who have managed over a few months gamble free , how did you do it?

Morning CM
I don’t think anyone can ever say they have stopped for good but I’ve now done over 2 years which I never thought I would do, it’s not been easy and I’ve had to put some hard work in, below some of the things I did and still do in no particular order, they have all played a part at some time of another,
Honesty with people around me.
Attended GA regularly. ive not done the steps but have worked them in my own way but attend at least a meeting a week.
Kept a diary on here.
Read and commented on lots of other diaries on here.
Read books and watched YouTube videos on addiction.
Self-Excluded from over 100 bookies and 6 website I had accounts with.
Installed blocking software.
Handed over my finances to a trusted person.
Realised I couldn’t win because I couldn’t stop.
Lost relationships rather than just money.
Stopped looking at sports results.
Embraced recovery and started to help others.
Kept busy, I watched loads of boxsets.

Hi CM, I see you have started over 20 threads throughout your time on the forum. I spent some time reading them and it's obvious you want help with this addiction but you need to start taking the advice on board and putting it into practice! There is no point going over old ground, I suggest you re-read your threads for the advice you want, it's all there.
You mentioned ordering a new bank card, you said you ordered one a few weeks back on another thread (correct me if I'm wrong) and were going to get the 3 digits scratched off. Did it not arrive in the post yet?
Step out of your comfort zone and do what is necessary to battle this addiction, not just what you feel comfortable with doing. Willpower alone won't cut it.
All the best
Thanks for the replies.
‘Realised i couldnt win because i couldnt stop’ thats made me think a bit.
I went to order a new bank card a few weeks ago but never did as i thought i could just stop, but i couldnt, always a new site to sign up to.
Ive ordered one today so hopefully have it Friday, will be good just not being able to deposit money online.
Affected by gambling?
