Hi strange

Cash works for me it makes me realise how important money is when you are paying by cash

When using my card online it justflowed out in 100s like it was pennies

You deserve a big YEY for not gambling

Suzanne x

Hi Strange,

Well done for posting here to inform us about the progress you’re making in your recovery. It’s also good to know the process is making you wiser and more responsible with your spending; (“thinking twice about all purchases”).

You sound happier and proud of yourself, and I also feel same for you, and have no doubt that forum members and all who know about your gambling problem are equally pleased for you.

Great news! Keep to the hard work, for it’s worth every moment of it.

Best wishes,

Beatrice

Thanks folks feedback really helps. My friend is keeping hold of all my cards so that I can't even order stuff online. We both work different shifts so I only see her every couple of weeks when she gives me an allowance from my pay. Feel pathetic at times but I have to persevere, have thought about re ordering cards but So that I have access to cash "just in case" but I know what this would lead to. I cannot be trusted! I know in time I will get used to this and for the next year or so this is how I choose to be, anything no matter how difficult is better than gambling . Gambling equals getting all of your hard earned cash and flushing it down the toilet! I can't do that anymore my family needs my cash to stay in the home!

Thanks Julie. It hurts so much the pain seems unbearable at times. I go from feeling grat because I haven't gambled to total despair because I did in the first place. But I know to survive I have to look forward and not back. Second job keeps me sane. If I could work days off I would just not to have time on my hands. That said feel knackered long days at work at the moment . Thanks for your comments x

Hey there. Does anyone else visit this site in secret ? I do . As soon as I have finished, I will go to safari and clear the history so it cannot be traced? My problem is still a secret from hubby . I hope it always will be as I don't want him to know about this.

I can hear a few people yelling right now tell him tell him, I can't! Not now anyway. I have told a lifelong friend and this was hard enough. I am managing this problem and I.m gonna kick it's a**, xx

Thanks Suzanne. Every day is a challenge and yes this site is becoming important to me. I don't always write but I read to address where I am. I am a compulsive gambler but I will not bet again. Today is hard tomorrow will be harder but as I tackle each day I become stronger and stronger. I regret very much the money I have lost, but what I regret more is the time I have lost. Last night I helped my daughter build one of her many lego houses and my relationship with her is fabulous. Why did I waste endless hours watching some random pictures of ridiculous Irishmen on a fruit machine. ? I didn't realise how much I had neglected her but no machine will ever get in the way of me spending time with my beautiful daughter x
