New to this forum and gamcare so not really sure we're to begin , my names Barry and I'm a compulsive gambler and iv been gambling for around 12 years, it all started as a bit of fun betting on football or the horses on a Saturday but as I started winning the betting became more frequent and the stakes got higher, I'd say over the last 12 years id lost around 20k, it also caused problems with an ex we wasn't happy for years and gambling what I turned to we finally broke up and I lost my home. The gambling spiralled and I was betting on almost anything just to feel better even tho it was the gambling making me unhappy most of the time. At present I'm with a new women who's perfect and we've just had a little girl but the gambling is still causing problems iv promised to quit 3 times but have been unable to , yesterday I slipt up again and lost 100 on a stupid football bet so that was the last straw iv excluded and have tried set up therapy sessions see if that will help , I went ga meetings once before but didn't take it seriously
