I've slid back into gambling hell

After 227 days gamble free, which has been a great time in my life I've slipped twice in the last 9 days and incurred a gambling loss of over £400. I was doing so well that I became complacent. The memory of my horrific losses had faded enough to make me think a little flutter won't hurt me, but it has. I'm furious with myself for this slip up. I also influenced my fiancГ© to come casino with me and he ended up losing 400 last night so a total loss of over 800 between us on a bloody Monday night. I'm so angry and not sure what to do. I'm off to vegas for a summer holiday in august so I know I will end up gambling there but I hate it so much. We went last Saturday and I won a bit and we spent it on dinner. I thought I'd do the same again last night but lost big instead crashing back to reality. I hate the consequences of my actions. It's such a rediculous waste of money.

As well as the money think about the effect it is having on your mind and relationship as well perhaps? Why do you think you became complacent if you don't mind me asking? As far as a holiday in Las Vegas is concerned, I think that's the last place a CG should go - can't you go somewhere else where there will be no temptation to gamble or is too late to cancel the trip? Las Vegas has got to be the most in your face gambling place in the world! Best wishes, Phil.

Sorry to hear that you have slipped back into gambling but I have to agree with Phil. The tsatement "You are going to vegas and you know you will gamble there"....maybe you are just not ready to stop. if you feel like you are then you are certainly making it as hard as possible to make that happen. Going to vegas as a gambler is like an alcoholic going and sitting in the pub.

Does your partner know you have a gambling problem?....if not it may be best to let him know about your issue.

Good luck.

I no the feeling i have slipped up today and lost £600 it really hurt me i am going on holiday too not to vegas but to Turkey hopefully it will take my mind off gambling so i can start to get my life back on track. I would recommend a holiday however Vegas may encourage you rather than distract you from gambling. Good Luck Delano
