Good evening everyone. Hang in there - it's not easy, this; but - that said, there is no excuse to gamble.

Thank you for your kind comments; always most appreciated. My scans/x-rays have come back 'clear', although I need to see the doctor. I remain pragmatic. (But a little relieved, all the same - I won't deny!)

I will personally respond to everyone who has checked in, on this thread, in the next day or two. Meantime - please remain gambling free.

Do not let yourselves - and those that care about you - down. It really isn't too much too ask; and you know this, friends. Geo, Velvet: please, keep it going.

Excellent news Mixer 🙂

Really pleased to hear that. You’ve helped to put a smile on my face as Thursday draws to a close.

I have achieved 100 days GF, be it with will power only, no blocking software, self exclusion or handing over finances. I appreciate that following this path of abstinence will result in 99.9% chance of failure. I definitely don't recommend it but I had to do this to somehow prove to myself that I don't need gambling. I'd admitted defeat and for the first time I didn't want to chase the losses anymore. Ten of thousands lost and in debt by thousands but I had to accept that in order to move on. Times are hard at the moment financially but I have no intention of trying to go back and win money that will eventually be given back and then some. Also thanks to this challenge I have remained focused on remaining GF and have been a follower abit not a poster.

Congrats to Mixer on reaching your 100 days recently and your continued support to others on this forum.

Hi Mixer. I'm sure you are relieved that the scan results were clear and this will be a weight off your shoulders. Sometimes it takes a moment of clarity to put things in perspective, or kick-start our lives to higher planes.

You're doing a fine job my friend, and remaining gf. All the best.
Martin

Well done amt722 on achieving 100 days. I’m doing the same as you and relying on willpower rather than blocking sites or handing over finances. I too appreciate it’s a hard journey that’s got a high chance of failure. But thousands of pounds of debt is a reminder of the misery gambling caused me too. I can see a light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve worked out it will take me about another 2.5 years to clear the bulk of my debt. This keeps me focussed as relapse extends this and it feels like I’ll never get out of debt if I keep relapsing. Best wishes to you and long may your journey of abstinence continue.

53 days now. I get paid next week for the first time since mid-September, but I’m confident I won’t gamble. Blocks in place to make it difficult should I be tempted, but the thought of gambling seems ridiculous right now.

*** Rollcall Update ***

Friends,

Unfortunately I have been struck down by a heavy cold and have needed to rest today ... so I've had to take the decision to delay the Rollcall to tomorrow. Rest assured I'll post it on Monday (I've written some of it) and meantime; keep strong!
