I will have some of this please. Im just starting day 6 without a bet and this seems a really positive part of this forum. I struggle to get past a payday without gambling and I’ve lost all hope I can beat this. But I can’t give up on giving up. This fight is incredibly hard as every time I’ve got money I seem to forget about the past and just think about how much I’m going to win. A few hours later a weeks wages will more than likely be gone. The more I win the more I want to gamble and the higher the amounts I want to gamble. I’m going to read some more threads from here as this is inspiring stuff!
Great post once again Mixer and thanks for your kind words.
I’m glad to hear that you’re cutting back on your drinking. Top man!
I’m sure in time you’ll feel the benefits.
Thanks again mate.
Dan
Checking in for the week on day 187, still gamble free and hoping to push on through the 200 day mark.
Thankyou for your kind words mixer
Checking in on day 175 gamble free. Have a great weekend everyone
We've all probably got some details of life that have been put on hold due to gambling. I have just not wanted to contend or deal with these details head on & for quite some time. tara2
Day 27 today xx
Thank you Mixer for your kind words. My experience of trying to beat this is that you can never really trust yourself, and it's always important to have those 'procedures' in place when temptation gets too great. It's just a real shame it's taken this long to figure out how many blocks you need to put in place. But then again - you have to experience it to live and learn and rectify your mistakes.
In the past, the craving I had the other night would have led to a binge. I am still gamble free - and in fact tomorrow will be Day 50! Onwards and upwards.
Checking in another week GF. Sorry haven’t said much other than checking in - I’ve been reading Allen Carr’s book “the easy way to quit gambling” and it really has helped. I thoroughly reccomened it to anyone, it helps take away ones desire to gamble.
Congratulations on the big 300 mixer!
Checking in on day 219 of being GF and I am so happy to report that I have cleared the £5,950 of debt! Woohoo
Checking in on 34 days gamble free.
Checking in on day 8 and feeling good that for the first Friday in ages I’ve not gambled. I was worried the World Cup would cause me issues, but I’m just enjoying the football for what is is and not worrying about getting a bet in. Early days for me but certainly less stressful days!
Im back on the recovery road my year ran out my bookies self exclusion which is why i relapsed now ive re self excluded from bookies and have gamstop in place
Checking in ! 380 GF DAYS! Happy days 🙂 thanks mixer for looking after the challenge ! I ain't planning to gamble again and I mean it !
