I’ve been gamble free for many years now but I’ve recently found struggles with life after addiction. I’ve always had something to channel my addiction into (gaming, golf) but due to cutbacks to save for a house I’m finding it difficult to control my impulses with every day life. Making decisions without consulting my partner first and it’s affecting our relationship. Does anybody have any advice on how to channel my addiction positively so I’m able to regulate my every day life. An example being this, my partner and i have been together for 18 months and we are in that stage where we are adapting to each others lives and when I need to change something I can, but when there’s something else I focus so much on the new thing, get addicted to fixing the issue that I lose track of the other issues and do them again. Whereas she will change everything straight away and it causing friction.
I on day 607 g/f and i believe i am having the same issue i dont know if i have addictive personality i need spend something to make myself better has i'm not wasting money on gambling i just have got use to it what a few £100 a month right? At moment i dont have any issues but i can see it as a problem in near futureÂ
@tazman it’s seems you’re experiencing the same issues just in a slightly different way. I don’t have information yet on what we’re experiencing but I have a couple of one to one counselling sessions to discuss it next week so I’ll share anything I have with you so hopefully it can help.
Yes it can lead back to gambling I have found. I normally just worked a lot of overtime to fill that void and I still do.
Sorry I don't have a bigger or better answer but filling the void with activities is best or workÂ
