Hi ive been gambling a number of years and now need (and importantly also want) to have a life away from it.  I am keen to engage further with learning and sharing others on the site but would like to ask if anyone knows how to block non uk casinos on online.  Unfortunately this new area of being able to gamble is my new problem and last night effectively highlighted to me that i am again in the grips of gambling addiction.  Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

Hey Tom! Your in the right place 🙂 I would recommend speaking to Gamcare by calling or whatsapping and asking for the link to Gamban - they will provide you with a free link and install on all your devices and it will ensure you can’t go on casino websites! Gamstop is good too! Put all the blocks in place as your first step trust me 🥰! How are you doing though and do you have support? You can always get 1-2-1 support from Gamcare and they have a chat room on here too that a fair few people join everyday which I’ve found helpful.

Thanks chan.  I do have gamstop blocks in place (self excluded) and will look into gamban as a tool for online.  Thank you for asking ‘how i am’.  In all honesty im not fully sure really but if i try to describe it i can only use the terms numb and anxious really.  I know understand i need (want) the help others to stop and so hope to be able to engage in more support moving forward.

thank you so much for the advice.

Hi Tom

I'm no expert in giving help, I understand what needs to be done to help myself but can't execute it at all

I've done it all gamstop, gamcare, gamban, therapy and initially they all help but for me it's around the perseverence, I have relapsed so many times when saying I will "stop"

Most recently just last night had a huge relapse and wages that I've earned through my job are now all but gone, with direct debits and minimum payments still to come out this month, I have entered a period of overwhelming anxiety so have reached out and tried to share some stuff and get off my chest (as I don't speak to anyone about this)

I'm in a similar boat to you with the non UK casinos being a problem, I've really made it hard for myself,

I have gamban (however I worked out a way to disable it when I wanted on my phone)

I have gamstop (but due to non UK isn't covered on gamstop)

Bank blocks (but these non UK casinos are quite malicious to addicts and keep changing their payment system/names so avoids bank blocks)

Ultimately I've came to the conclusion that the non UK no regulated casinos we can access are like a cancer as they are almost invoidable with the urge.

I don't know what to say to help but to be able to share my situation has been even emotional typing this message as besides professionals I've never spoke to anyone about it

Same boat as everyone on here brother, it's difficult, i also started gambling on non uk casinos, willpower is your only friend, downgrade your phone to a non smart phone so you don't have immediate access in moments of weakness removed link   The highs are lows are so intense, you're not alone, every time i assure myself thats it, eventually i somehow end up back spinning.

I have cancelled all my credit (credit cards/overdraft) Some kind of (VERY INACCESSIBLE/locked) savings account may work too.

We can do this! You deserve better for your life.
