Reverse withdrawl

Ok, not a very snappy title, and I'm sure it might have been tackled in other threads but one thing that makes me fume is when online betting sites claim to offer a "responsible betting environment" and yet also offer the ability for the gambler to reverse a withdrawl they have made. I'm thinking of a specific site, who allow you to withdraw your funds from your gambling account, but instead of sending the funds straight back to your bank, they have a couple of days "processing time" where you can reverse the withdrawl back into your gambling account. The point I'm trying to make is surely this feature is only there to encourage compulsive addictive behaviour. It's only an addict who would withdraw money from their gambling account and then want to use that money again a few hours later, so reverse the withdrawl. This definitely does not create a "responsible betting environment". What really irritates me is that you can still reverse your money two days after the initial withdrawl. If this site was truly being responsible, they would process your money immediately so that you don't see that money again till it hits your bank account.

Ok you could argue that if you are a Compulsive Gambler you will gamble all your money eventually anyway, but I do believe this reverse withdrawl feature deliberately targets the vulnerable mind. Only answer - never bet again. Self exclude and block all betting sites.

I've been clean for 5 days and aim to keep it that way.

Hi half-life

It was less brooding, more cementing my real feelings towards the gambling industry. I'm thinking more in terms of how the industry is endeavouring to create and hold on to compulsive gamblers.

As for me, I know where I'm heading, and it's a much better place. But there is no harm in venting anger towards an industry that will continue to create compulsive gamblers.

I am not a CG either but strongly agree with Granite that it is blatantly preying on the vulnerable.

I don't suppose when you deposit funds into a gambling account there are any deterrents what so ever!

Also I have noted when people deposit into their gaming account it is instant yet takes up to 5 days to get the money back.

I suppose if you don't gamble it is all irrelevant.

The gaming industry will soon be far more regulated so things like this wont be allowed to happen. It's the finance industry getting caned at the moment - I have a feeling these guys are next!

I agree it's wrong and an underhand trick but let's be honest for a CG such matters are just an inconvience to losing our money and nothing more.

I can wholeheartedly relate to this topic- because I did exactly that , two days ago- I withdrew 500 and then a day later, I tried to make a 140 deposit and whoa and behold 'you have pending withdrawls do you want to cancel'

I STILL HAVE MY 500 INTACT-ONLY AFTER WINNING 150 BACK AFTER LOSING IT. I WAS DOWN TO 350 GOT IT BACK TO 536- NOW I PLAYED WITH THE 36 GOT IT TO 88 IM NOW PLAYING WITH THE 88!!!

the government are doing nothing to stop online gambling addiction because they know people are getting into debt and paying interest that brings in revenue for the government.

David Cameron and his cronies are ignoring it as are all politicians....
