Hi, I'll try and keep this brief.

I am 30 years old and addicted to gambling.

As a conservative estimate I have lost around £200000 (200 grand!!) in the last 7 years. 90k of it in the last 6 months.

online poker being my biggest vice with sports betting being my secondary issue. say a 80/20 split.

Ive had my wins, a fair few tourneys. And turning £500 into 10k - 20k in a night. but without fail I always end up losing it all. As i am unable to stop.

Ive tried GA meetings but they were not for me, people treating the meeting as some sort of competion to prove they have lost the most, wagered the most etc.Or are complete know it alls.

I have accepted money from my parents under false pretenses and gambled that all away. I am currently studying for a degree but can not focus as all I want to do is chase the money i have lost.

I am simply unable to forget my losses and move on. How do you do it, when you know you have thrown away enough money to buy a nice house outright.

I just can not forget and move on. Please help

Unfortunatley there is no magic button to press but I know one thing, the answer isn't losing more money.

Have you tried counselling?
