I'm 47 days gamble free which I haven't been in my 14 years gambling so this is a massive achievement for me. However today has been my hardest day with the start of the football season all me mates putting there footy bets on and I've got strong urges so any advice or help as to how to cope with these urges would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
Matty - you are doing outstandingly well and I'm so hopeful that you have got through today as one of the biggest tests of your recovery so far.
Just remember the triangle - money, location and time. You have to take one away......if you can then your recovery will continue. It's not easy....in fact it's ridiculously difficult.....but you are part of an army now and one that is desperate for you to come through this.
Keep talking to us, keep believing in yourself and keep knowing that you are doing one of the most important things you will do in life.
Take care mate,
Mr B
Remember that not being able to bet is a positive thing and not a negative one. Once you've tackled the urges once, it is easier next time.
don't expect it to be easy and keep trying whatever happens
finally get as much help as you can. no amount of help is too much
Hi
I had the same problems yesterday with all the betting adverts back in force everywhere, usually in the past years I always have a bet in the start of the football league
Tbh struggled a little bit yesterday but didn't give in
