Until coming back on here a few days ago after years of being absent my brain hadnt realised just how many adverts for gambling there are. At all times of the day.

Next time you sit down to watch something in the evening just see how many bingo, lottery and betting adverts there are. Even worse during a sports event with certain in play nooooow ads.

My concern is the people getting sucked in by the deposit £10 get £30 to play on Bingo. The amount you have to wager before you could possibly withdraw is ridiculous. You near enough always have to deposit more and if you click yes to the bonus then wager more again. Then when you do finally have some winnings you have to have a certain value before you can withdraw. Then you will have to jump through about 10 hoops to prove who you are. They didnt give two hoots who you are when you deposited the cash, just when you want some of it back!

I even used one site that each £10 you deposited you had to wager £30 before you could withdraw and that was after declining a bonus. And had to have a £30 balance to withdraw. Its just improbable that you will ever "win" or withdraw more than you deposit.

I am glad I have learned my lesson. Please dont be tempted by these offers. Please dont be fooled. Please always read the bonus and withdrawal wager requirement terms.

Hi Danny09,

There have been some recent changes that bookmakers now have to follow in terms of Player Protection. Sadly for a new customer with a website, most of these measures will not come in to effect until either:

1) Their activity hits enough "triggers" for the websites' system to raise a concern (length of time logged in, amount of withdrawal requests cancelled etc.)

or 2) The player themselves raises any concerns over their gambling to the bookmaker.

In my opinion, the UK should have an online Self-Exclusion Register such as in Denmark, whereby somebody can voluntarily put themselves on to this. That way any bookmaker who has a licence to operate in the UK, would be fully aware of your gambling problem upon you entering your details with the website - and despite their flashy new offers they would be forced to turn you away.

For now people will need to apply a gambling blocker on to any device that they have access to, and attempt to show more responsibility themselves than the bookmakers are forced to show.
