Hello Deirdre/Caroline

Thank you for explaining the situation in more detail. Easy for a "layperson" on such matters, such as myself To think such matters are straightforward and easily fixed.

Whilst writing. Appreciate only appropriate for Gamcare to be involved in sourcing and introducing any new software needed i.e. without outside help.

But I am sure if it were appropriate and acceptable. Many folks on here including myself, would be more than happy to try and assist in anyway with its introduction? Say if any new system needed to be "beta" tested? Especially as I understand that there are a number of other folks whom post on here. That are very knowledgable on computer software, possibly working in the field?

As it happens, I regreted saying what I did in my opening post. To hasty assumptions being made.

But I see that no progress has been made re the chatrooms being set up again.

I stated in a previous email, my distain for charity organisations whom a small majority of staff appear to be more financially focused rather than the charity "cause" and the people they are meant to be helping.

I find it strange that Gamcare whom are in many ways the "first call" for many CG's seeking help in the UK. Can not, after nearly 5 months, resurrect "chat line".

Personally I feel it is an absolute disgrace. In the gambling industry such a chat line would be put in place in days, if it suited them?!

Maybe get some folks out of the "back office" and start earning their money?

Maybe worry about things that will help you with your gambling addiction instead of getting involved in who earns what. Seriously how does that help anybody unless you use it as one more thing/reason to blame your addiction on.

It became quite apparent from the offset that the chat room was going offline for a while and their responses were just buying time. I wouldn’t be surprised if it was to do with under funding. The last few years the site has become pretty unwelcoming, there’s no personal touch to any posts from staff it’s just a constant point towards the helpline which I would say is where they make their money/funding/targets. You only have to look at how many words are censored to realise the site has no freedom, it’s almost like the office is based somewhere in north korea

Amom

To your mind my worries are insignificant. To my mind they are. As it is indictive of CG's issues being "swept under the carpet" and CG's being expected to accept "second rate" service.

Whom said anything about me blaming my CG addiction on anyone? I openly admit it is totally my fault.

I genuinely wonder if you are for real and not have an ulterior motive for posting what you did?
